Christmas is Over – are we glad?

Christmas is over, we can all relax and get things back to normal again!  It is always hectic of course just before Christmas with the various shows the bears go to, and of course this means that a lot of bears find a new home!   That fact is wonderful, both because they find a home where they will be treasured but also because it means I can create new bears that are bursting to come out of me.  I am always thinking of new fur and fabric, colours and textures and what type of bear they could become.  Ive been working on a few since the beginning of December (and before really with ideas and collecting the fabric I need).

Have a look at ‘The Gardener’ , he’s 36cm tall (14″) and made from a hand dyed brown and cream mohair from Germany so he looks as though he’s muddy already.  He has topaz glass eyes made in England.  He is 5 way jointed and has armature in his arms and legs so he is to a certain extent poseable but of course because he is also stuffed don’t consider him fully bendable!

He will be on the website soon, I’m getting to the website next!

Another chap I’ve been working on is Uncle John, I imagine him sitting on the side of a bayou playing his banjo!  He’s 45cm tall and made from a blue grey swirl Steiff Schulte mohair.  His denim dungarees are splattered with white – not sure what from but he looks cool!

More will be on line soon, but please remember I am delighted to make a bear to order in a colour and material of your choice, just give me a ring to talk about it.

in the meantime – Happy New Year Everyone!
