Hello!
It’s a while since I posted, I apologise, it has been a busy year and not only with bears!
We’re back at the frantic run up to Christmas again and what I think of as the first real Christmas show takes place next weekend, Friday 27th-Sunday 29th October at Central Milton Keynes Shopping Centre, (UK) and it would be wonderful if I could meet some of my Nessa Bear Friends there again!
We have new bears on the stall, some made in gorgeous hand-dyed mohair in my beautiful traditional teddy bear design as well as a couple of new designs of bears which I have made with longer noses and bigger ears and a more rounded tummy who also have a growler and make a fantastic moan! so I look forward to hearing what you think of those lovely chaps.
I sold out of my Scarf Hugs at Hugglets Bear Fair in London in September so the past few weeks have been spent putting together a supply again ready for this coming Milton Keynes weekend and I’ve been working doubly hard because the very week after Milton Keynes Nessa Bears is at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham (UK) at the Simply Christmas Show from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th November so if I don’t get to see you in MK, perhaps I will be lucky enough to see you in Birmingham.
With the two shows so close together I have to create quite a stock of new bears as these are the shows coming up now where everyone is looking to increase their hugs and I usually spend most of the year working on the preparation. And not only bears, as I mentioned, I sell my lovely scarf hugs very quickly, two lovely little 7 year old twins received one each at a recent show and walked off with them round their wrists, twisting their heads back and forth so they were talking to each other – it was so sweet, I do wish I had got a photo.
I have a lot of kits ready for sale, Posey, 27cm (11”), Lu Yan 18cm (7”) and now I am doing kits for Scarf Hugs. At the moment I have lots of hand-dyed mohair in all three of the kits but as you know, this goes so very quickly, and I have some lovely colours and textures of mohair as well so whether you’re looking for black, white or multi coloured, I’ve got you covered! I had some lovely days covered with gorgeous fabrics and had to force myself not to add any to my stash but to create kits for other bear lovers to put together – it was so difficult….. and I have to admit I did take some!
Over the summer period I have also put together a selection of my bear photos on to cards (4”x 6”) with envelopes, and with a blank inside so you can use for anything you like, such as weddings (with my lovely wedding bear couple) Goodbye (with my bear Gabriel, packed with his trunk) so those will be available too – they’re on the website too.
I look forward to seeing my friends again at MK (UK) next weekend – and remember if you come on Sunday, the clocks go back, so you can have a lie-in too!
And how about a trip to Birmingham UK for Simply Christmas, (2-5 November) the show runs with the shows Creative Crafts, Cake International and Bake International at the same time and your ticket gets you entry to all of them, so plenty to see.
