It is May tomorrow and as I am writing this it is absolutely pouring with rain!
It’s a good job it wasn’t like this at 08.20hrs this morning as the Spitfire and Hurricane flypast at our nearby village of Marston Moretaine would have had to be cancelled and such a disappointment to Captain (oops sorry Colonel) Tom that would have been!
I know we are in lockdown and you would have thought this would be a perfect time to get on with making Nessa Bears, but, I don’t know about you, but I find it quite hard to settle to something.
I understand it is normal so am not taking a lack of concentration too seriously, diversity seems to be the key, so a little bit of this and a little bit of that and unfortunately a small amount of housework too J
I have updated the website with some new bears so there is more variety there to have a look at. And of course don’t forget, if you would like someone created to your own colours and size, please get in touch with me, I will not charge any extra for your special bear :).
I am particularly pleased with Jeremiah! He’s quite a big sturdy bear and I had in mind as I sewed him the stories of the Scarlet Pimpernel – comfort reading at this time! – and so the idea came to dress him in a waistcoat and long jacket with lace of the style popular at the time of the French Revolution. I don’t think I have gone as lavishly laced as they did at that time, I didn’t want him to look too over the top
Rosebud is also gorgeous, she is made from a silk fabric and so is quite special, the closeness of the short fur really outlines her shape and the dusky pink is so pretty. She just nicely to the hold and her expression gives the impression that she will listen to all you say!
I hope you like the new bears!
Stay safe everybody and we will get back out there soon!
